The Astro Wah Lai Toi Drama Awards was introduced in 2005, whereby audiences get a chance to vote via SMS or hotline for their favourite TVB actor & actress, drama series, characters, best couple, most memorable scene, scene stealer, bizarre character and best theme song based on the selected TVB drama series aired in Channel 30 (Wah Lai Toi) throughout that year.
How to obtain the tickets? Unfortunately tickets are not for sale, DUH! It’s on invitation basis and also if you are lucky, you might win the tickets through entering contests via magazine, call-in MyFM, SMS voting and etc. But then this year the drama awards was hosted in Genting Highlands…yippee…and my thanks to my dad, he managed to redeem 2 tickets for me and my hubby. For your information, Genting Silvercard and above are given free tickets. Yeah…no need to watch the live broadcast on TV this year!!
The ticket stated that the event starts at 7.00 p.m. and I was stupid enough to believe it. You see, the live broadcast was at 8.30 p.m. and we reached there at 6.30 p.m. Well, when we reached the Arena of Stars, there was a huge enthusiastic crowd hanging around the red carpet area, trying to find a spot to catch a close glimpse of their idols. Hubby was more concern on finding a good seat (I hate free seating concept) whilst I was more eager to stay outside to take photos. While he was seated comfortable inside, I stood outside for more than an hour. Finally…all the guest artistes from TVB came, strolling down the red carpet, waving to their screaming fans. Those who came were Moses Chan and his rumoured gf - Bernice Liu, Raymond Lam, Myolie Wu, Ron Ng, Kevin Cheng and Raymond Cho. Gosh…all of them so good looking, both on and off screen. Drrrool……..

The Arena of Stars was overflowed. Luckily Hubby booked a nice seat for us.
