4 GLUTTONS; RM60; 3 STOPS; TAMAN YULEK

How did 4 gluttony food bloggers managed to feast themselves at 3 places with only RM 60 for a night out at Taman Yulek? Interesting question eh? Well, Jason aka Luscious Lips of Ipoh Mali Talak Sombong is now working and staying in Taman Yulek, Cheras and so Jackson, WMW and myself decided to meet him for dinner. I have never been to Taman YuLek before so I was quite surprise that there are lots and lots of interesting places to eat there. Thanks to Jackson familiarity with Cheras, we have no problem locating Jason's place. The 4 of us spent almost 10 minutes quality time in the car because we couldn't decide on where to eat.

Luscious lips (just look at his perfect natural-roseypink lips) with his cool and powerful T-shirt bought in Bangkok!

We then went circling around Taman Yulek...finally, decided to have street food since WMW was raving about this chee cheong fun stall. It was drizzling, but that didn't dampen our gluttony spirit and we were very lucky to find a small empty table just right in front of the shophouses. However, we discovered that the chee cheong fun stall was not there that night...so we decided to order something else to share. Jackson volunteered to be the Finance Director that night...so we started off with RM50 for the first round.

Char Kuey Teow, Fish Ball Noodle, Prawn Mee, Tong Sui, Oyster Omelette, you name it they got it. Err...except Chee Cheong Fun.Lotus Seed with Snow Fungus Dessert - a very nice and warming tong sui to have on a rainy day.
Herbal Tea Egg - Ermm...the tea tasted like pak chee chou (a kind of Chinese herbal tea). First time having this so dunno if it's supposed to taste like that.
Cream of Peanut (Far Sang Wu) - warm, thick and creamy.
Char Kuey Teow - Jason said it tasted kinda weird. I find it just an ordinary plate of char kuey teow.
Prawn Mee - prawn broth lack of oommpphhh until we discovered that the chilli paste that came with it actually greatly enhance the taste.
Lala Omelette - I suggest they should renamed it as Starchy Omelette. Full of the ooey gooey starch. Now, where is the lala?
Loh Mai Kai aka Glutinous Rice with Chicken - WMW said this is a fast-selling item. Although a little oily, tastewise was fantastic.
Char Siu Bao - Jackson overheard a man ordering 18 pieces of it so out of curiousity, he bought one to try. I quite like the taste of the fillings but sad to say, the bun required a lot of chewing and water to swallow it down.

After spending close to half of the RM50 at our first stop, we walked over to the opposite side of the road to Restoran San Yulek which according to WMW is the next best alternative for chee cheong fun.
Jason was busy photographing while Jackson was ordering + flirting.
See how happy she is??!!???!!
Apart from the chee cheong fun, Jackson also ordered some fried beancurd, fish balls, quail eggs, stuffed brinjal and taufupok. We requested for our order to be divided into two plates; one with sweet and chilli sauce, while the other with curry gravy.
The curry gravy was thick and creamy. Personally I felt that it doesn't go that well with the chee cheong fun.

With 2/3 stomach filled and left with RM16, we were again lost. Too early to go home yet dunno what to eat with only RM16. We decided to top up another RM10 so that it would be easier for us to divide it into 4 later on. So off we went to Station One, a popular hangout place for people to meet and chat over drinks. With RM26, we were very focus to make sure we maximise on our orders. With a 15% set aside for service tax and charges, we ordered 4 drinks and 3 snacks.

For drinks, we had 3 Apple Juice with Aloe Vera and 1 Blackcurrent with Aloe Very
Our snacks...
Mini Sausages
French Fries
Fish Paste Spring Rolls (5 pieces) which they serve in Penang Lobak

Total amount spent that night was actually less than RM60, hopefully the balance is enough for 1 toll. It was really fun and we had a great laugh when we discussed like a team on how we should best utilise our resources. Jackson was really ambitious, he said next foodcrawl we should target at RM10 per person. Hmm..with this kind of target, I guess we have to venture out from KL oledi, so when and where?
