Getting back to the reality world from a magical night in Disneyland was so torturous. But no choice, like it or not, still got to head home as I got 2 angry dogs waiting for me to pick them up from their boarding place. Being promised by Hubby to bring me and my nephew to Disneyland again early next year did cheer me up until now. My Hubby never give me empty promises before. *GRIN*
Ok..no more Mickey, no more Minnie, no more Chip & Dale. Guess it's time to sum up my Hong Kong trip with a farewell lunch at our all-time favourite place. We discovered this place during our 2nd trip and since then, it has become our must-eat-before-going-home eatery. So much so, before we even depart to Hong Kong, we already looking forward to having lunch here before catching flight home. What is this place called? Cafe de Coral (click here for drooling session), the place I featured in my previous post about the yummylicious Loh Mai Kai. For lunch, they offer baked rice, soupy rice, noodle and rice with varieties of roasted meat. My choice has always been the same, Suckling Pig with BBQ Pork Rice, huge and generous serving of meat for only about HKD25 per serving. Sadly was told that Suckling Pig not available that day. Sniff sniff sniff!!!
The BBQ pork as expected was DELICIOUS! Juicy and succulent!! 2 thumbs up. My roasted goose tasted good too; skin was crispy with the right amount of fats hidden beneath it while the meat was meaty and juicy. Tastewise, I got to admit that the roasted goose I had at Maxim, Disneyland tasted much better, hence justified the high price paid. Hubby's Lung Kong chicken surprising tasted good but I only managed to sample ONE piece. Well, it was a barter system, I traded one piece of my goose so I get only ONE piece of chicken in return. A very satisfying lunch indeed eventhough I was looking forward to Suckling Pig which is REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD! Maybe next year eh?

Ha! Ha! I 100% agreed with your comment on this wonderful airport cafe De Coral food. I travel at least 3-4 time each year thru HK back to Malaysia and What I usually do is "Ta Pau" a bowl of Cafe De Coral choice of rice and bring to the flight to subsitude the lousy airplane food. I will added half salted egg to my order and usually they have other steam meat and other small cook dishes set that is value for money.
My next visit is near so I can have the wonderful Cafe De Coral food again!!

live2talk: Aiii..anything and everything also tastes better in HK. I mean, Malaysian food excluded.
babe: I also usually remove the skin but this one, cannot resist. Yes you are right, it was bounchy, texture almost like having jellyfish. Droolz :p~~~~~
My dear sis,
His breed hor...rare species. You got to open eye big big and search high and low.
As for siu yuk, i guess Hubby would be keen to join. But Carnaval, ahem, we jelak oledi.
Wow, the siu yuk really looks delectable... so thick and succulent. :d
As for our local "see-through" siu yuk, yalar... the wantan mee stalls need to buck up lah and serve us the real thing! ;)
shall keep a look out for this cafe de coral the next time i'm in HK..everything looks delish!
kenny, it's char-siu, not siu yuk. Their siu yuk also not too bad, very crispy skin.
sc: Do click on the link to their website...all the food looks so mouth watering. Wonder why no one take up their franchise to open up one here.
Yum! That picture brought back very fond memories of HK indeed! :) Maxims does have one of the best dishes and dim sum within the affordable category. But what I love about HK is that almost every dai pai tong has got equally good food in hefty portions!
so tempting as we don't get such juicy pieces here in KL! Thanks for the tip on where to eat in HK, will definitely give it a try if I visit HK.
The cafe itself is in the airport??
pink elle: Yet to try Maxim dim sum although I always wanted to. Next trip i guess. This trip no dessert leh!!!!
boo: Do try, highly recommended. They even have Pun Choy but i guess need to pre-order.
Jason: Yep, same floor as Immigration. After you exit the Immigration hall, head towards your right...you will see Burger King, Ajisen Ramen, Pak Loh Chiu Chow...and Cafe De Coral is the last. Aiyah..easier if you bring me along to bring you there. ;)
Oops! Typo. I am losing brain cells day-by-day... Soon, they will be all gone, and I will be blogging about Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan instead. LOL
Yes, I had the suckling pig rice at the airport cafe too...Enjoyed it so much and reasonably priced too!
hi theree!nice bloggy! ur blog always makes me droolll! esp when i read it at night.
craving for some roasted meat now )=
Yes! you Can, Why not? I do it all the time and I get a lot admire look from the person sit beside me!! Ha! Ha! or sometime I even bring sushi roll or bendo up to the plane...all and all the air plane is not my taste....!

Kenny, it's ok. It happens to me at times too. Need to drink more Brands Essence of Chicken?? Oh No...you fan of Paris Hilton?
wmw: I spotted something special this time, Ajisan Ramen. So many people having this noodle that came with Jap char siu and braised egg..and soup was the murky colour type. You know like those pork bone soup that boil for hours type? So tempted to betray cafe de coral leh.
san: Thanks for visiting my blog, hahaha and at night time too.
coketai: But then err...for MAS can bring suckling pig and char siu rice to eat on board meh??? Err..what if the person sitting next to you is a Muslim?
eh why my msg disappeared?? i was just saying the styrofoam bowl looks very unappetizing and the serves is like aussie size haha..
I am sorry, I miss put this point, all the while I am taking Cathy Pacific and seldom have any Muslim friend sit beside me, anyway, you got the point, I must be careful and more considerate !
Thanks to bring up the point!

NJoe, believe me, the taste compensates everything. Absolutely FANTASTIC!
coketai: LOL! Eating it at your confined space is ok but i guess it's the smell that matters. Anyway, Cathay food not good at all...once they even claimed that the food was cooked by a chef working in Peninsular Hotel. Choices were sweet chilli chicken and seafood pie. I was so overjoyed until i took a bite. :(
Hahaha. Guess d nick 'NJoe' is sticking.
Aiyo, next time must make sure got time to eat here. Previous visit, was with shopping queens so we were still whizzing in & out of outlets at d airport until time to board.
Tummythoz, got enuff time one provided you really check in 2 hours in advance, cepat cepat eat then only shop. Otherwise, tarbau like Coketai..but make sure you are not taking MAS flight wor.
aiyoh yeah looks like my name is not Joe but Njoe..sigh
