This was my second visit to Chatuchak Weekend Market, the largest market in Thailand and in the world. With over 15,000 stalls offering a wide variety of products, a day would not be enough to cover the entire place. Here, you can find almost anything, everything such as delicious Thai food and snacks; clothing such as funky tees, pyjamas, undergarments, jeans, shoes, bag; household items such as lightings, paintings, wood carvings, furnitures, gardening tools, live plants and flower bulbs, religious artifacts; souvenirs and lots of fluffy animals! What a paradise isn't it? For a shopaholic and animal lover like me, PERFECT!
With an objective in mind, that is to shop for our new house, Hubby and I arrived at Chatuchak Market before 10 a.m. and the place was already full of hustle and bustle! Abandoning our objective aside, Hubby knew my first stop would be the 'Pets Corner' where one can find all sorts of live animals for sale. Hubby really knew me so well *grin* as i refused to do any shopping unless I get to pat some doggies. Couple of weeks ago, I went to a petshop in SS2 and fell in love with a British Bulldog priced at RM4000. An exorbitant price to pay but in Chatuchak, it only costs RM1,000 and am sure we can even bargain further. But I read about the mistreatment of the animals here but pushing that aside, I think a pat or two from me could at least give them a little bit of love. This British Bulldog enjoyed tummyrub so much and I think Hubby also impressed with this fella who showed him his tummy as soon as we pat his head. And this was the one and only dog that Hubby touched that day.
This crossbreed Shih Tzu was so excited when he saw me. He immediately stood up on his two hind legs to grab my attention. He got such a naughty looking face, kinda reminded me of Pumpkin at that moment.
Awwww.....BABY PEA!! Such a cutie!! Exactly like Pea when young.
Lots of Shih Tzu pups for sale!!
There were also some dogs which preferred to take a nap rather than jumping up and down to impress prospective buyer such as this one here...
And here...zzz zzz zzzz
This fella was trying hard to impress me by giving me high 5 (paws) non-stop. But when I wished him goodbye, he gave me this look!
Smart looking poodle with a red bow tie complete with a smile!
Like I mentioned earlier, there are other live animals for sale too but I always find it so difficult to snap a good picture of them as they were so camera shy. I have no idea why they love to turn when I aimed my camera at them. So I selected a few good ones here:
Bunnies to feast your eyes!!
An owner showing off his beautiful cuckatoo! Harlow? Hello? Heloo???
Tanks after tanks of beautiful gold fishes!
I spotted this sad looking parrot locked inside a cage. It looked quite messy and wet. So sad.
Call me bias, at the end of the day, I still think my two precious Pea and Pumpkin are the BEST!!!! And how could I go home empty handed, of course, some souvenirs for my boys too! Thai treats!!
Check out my post on my first visit to Chatuchak Market here.

droolteam: Aawww...actually it's good to get Leanne pet. She can learn to take up more responsibility from owning a pet, really.
Imbi & Itchy: Agree agree agree! Some of them picked up the dogs and throw into another cage like as if they are non-living stuff. SO SO SAD :( That is why i always tell Pea and Pumpkin dat they are so so so so lucky!
Furkids: Hahaha...don't faint first. Walk halfway then only faint. You should bring Debbie there. Really nice place to visit.
