An evening by the seaside..Sepang GoldCoast

Since we are off for Labour Day today, I suggested to Hubby that perhaps we should go for a leisurely drive to Sepang Gold Coast. I have been eager to visit this place after reading Jackson's post on his previous visits. Together with my mother-in-law, we decided to spend the evening there followed by a steamboat dinner by the seaside.

The journey took us more than an hour and 15 minutes using the Elite Highway heading towards KLIA and turning off at the F1 circuit. You have to drive pass a few small towns and some villages with narrow roads before reaching this place. Quite easy to locate, all you need to do is to follow the signboards. It was almost 6.30 p.m. by the time we reached there, luckily, the sun hadn't set. We took a stroll along the beach and was really impressed with the cleanliness of the beach. And not forgetting the white and superfine sand which made walking bare-footed so bearable.

From afar, we saw the Golden Palm Tree Water Villa under construction. If not mistaken, I heard Hubby telling me that the first phase will be ready next year and more exciting developments are in the pipeline. You can check it here for more information about this place.

I spotted lots of small holes as I walked along the beach. Hehehe...my basic instinct was to stop and DIG DIG DIG!!!
P5010186

Tada....my favourite food: CRABS!!! Hubby said this should taste really good..as good as soft shell crabs!

I was even happier when I saw tiny shells moving towards the sea.

HERMIT CRABS! Aww...it reminded me of all the hermits I used to keep as pets till they took turns to leave me one after another. Too heartbroken, I decided not keep anymore after the last one also bid me farewell.

Cute fella! Hubby asked me to grab a few home. I was tempted to but I did not have any container with me.

After getting myself dirty and wet, it was time for dinner. Recommended by Jackson, we decided to have a steamboat dinner at SGC Steamboat Restaurant which is located right behind the show office.

For appetizer, we had 10 skewers of chicken satay. The chicken was well marinated and tender. I find it tasty enough even without dipping it into the peanut sauce.

We ordered the steamboat set for 3 at RM14.80 per person that came in a big plate of goodies. One thing for sure, the ingredients were really fresh. From Jackson's post, he highly recommended the mud crab which was also part of the reason why I was so eager to have dinner there. However, the waitress told me that they only serve flower crabs but even when I thought of compromising, she told me that flower crabs were not available that night. They did have side dishes if you wish to add, which I did, enoki mushrooms at RM8.00 per plate. Again, she came back and told me all were sold out. To avoid further disappointment, I decided not to add anything but to enjoy whatever we had ordered.

While waiting for our order to be served, Hubby asked me to snap a few pictures of the sunset. It was so beautiful.

Another picture of the sunset....

I think I will give it another 2 more years or so before returning again. Hopefully that time, I will be able to spend a night at the villa, watching sunrise and sunset at the balcony. Ahhh...that would be so lovely, isn't it?

terri: This development pretty new and hopefully the beach will remain as clean after completion.

wandering chopsticks: Beaches and farms are both my passion. I get the same amount of relaxation from greens as much as the sea. I just wouldn't mind exploring your garden. Hehe.

jason: Yalor..so romantic hor? I saw lots of people picnic and even set up tent for a night there.

You make them lil crabs look so cute... how can bear to eat? (Anyway they are too small and possibly inedible.)

Didn't know there's a "Gold Coast" in Malaysia too, haha...

j2kfm: The sunset so romantic isn't it. Imaging watching the sunset with a skewer of satay in your hand. Hehehe.

ling239: Why can't they think of other names hor? Sounded like an 'imitation'.

daphne: Ermm..personally nothing to shout about but overall pretty decent meal at affordable price. I would say I would not go all the way for the steamboat but for those who just want to be out from the city for a stroll along the beach plus something to eat, then highly recommended. But give it a couple of years or so, once developed, more things to see.

christine: Yes, do pay a visit. Quite relaxing, afterall, so near to us.

kenny: Err...small ones are cute but big ones are simply delicious! Yum yum yum.

ai wei: You should go one evening. Play with the sand, dig for crabs, 'kick' some water and watch the sunset. :)

christine: Nice! I enjoyed playing with the hermit crabs the most.

allaboutattitude: Just head towards LCCT terminal and when you come near the F1 circuit, look out for the signboard. Quite easy to locate as long as you follow the signboards.
