I am feeling sleepy and tired yet I feel like posting something up before I doze off for the day. Something short and simple. A post on one of my most satisfying breakfast at our favourite cafe in Macau.
Kam Chung Cafe is located at Rua De Nam Keng, Taipa Island which is just about 5 minutes walk from our hotel, Best Western Taipa. This is our third visit to Kam Chung, obviously our previous visits were memorable in which you can check it out here.
Only two of us as my dad and in-laws had the hotel breakfast. In the morning, breakfast sets by the name of A, B, C and D are available. Have no clue what they were since it was written in Chinese so we ordered from the English ala carte menu instead. Both of us had Iced Milk Tea (HKD 9) which tasted smooth and thick, good till the last drop. Syrup served separately so you can adjust the level of sweetness according to your taste. At RM3.80 per glass, believe me, it's enough for two. Next trip, we shall just order one to share.
We had the Pork Chop bun here before and I opt for this again. Pork chop was juicy and succulent. The Bun was lightly toasted; crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. However, I wouldn't mind if they throw in some sliced cucumbers and tomatoes and a dollop of chilli sauce to spice things up. Price? HKD 13 or approxiately RM5.50
Hubby ordered French Toast (HKD 14 = ~RM5.90). I was quite surprised as he never like oil-drenched bread sweetened with honey and peanut butter. The French Toast took a while to be served. If given a chance, I will rename it as Golden Toast! It was perfectly shiny golden in colour drizzled with honey with a dollop of half melted butter on top and peanut butter as fillings. Daily intake of this is definitely NOT RECOMMENDED! It was tasty though but it's way too 'rich' for one to finish off the whole thing.
The breakfast only cost us approximately RM19. Which HK cafe in Kuala Lumpur can serve the same thing at this kind of price?
Stay tuned as more great Macau food to come!

Cheap and sinful. Looks better than our local Wong Kok.
ling239: There is a stall very famous for this and open only at 3 p.m. for tea time and do expect a long long queue. I have not tried cos I lazy to queue but wait for Jackson to post cos he was in line for 45 minutes!
jun: Food is really not bad there but have to go find your own and cannot rely on their tourist booklet which you will ended up being slaughtered. My motto is always "Eat where the local eats!"
worldwindows: Wong Kok not cheap. I remembered i had their Macau's Pork Bun, not bad also but pricey.
Oh I agree, definitely better than our local Wong Kok or indeed any of our "local" HK char chan tengs. You make me wanna make way to Macau also lah...

kenny: Now AirAsia got promo....RM5 per way to Macau only. What are you waiting for? I just booked my way to Macau again. Hehehe.
cumi & ciki: It's alway nice to explore local haunts than to follow tourist guide when comes to eateries, don't you agree?
j2kfm: Yalor..RM19, Macau's standard. I find it such a good find. Somemore delicious wor. Even the lady sitting next to me, she had instant noodle soup with a succulent piece of pork chop. I see also mouth watered. Hahaha!
wandering chopsticks: Maybe you should do your own pork chop bun using Vietnamese marinade. I love Viet pork chop with hint of lemongrass and lots of fish sauce. Yumz! Aww...now i miss the broken rice so much.
The pork chops and toasts got all my attention precious pea! Looks like a great value meal to me too.
