Ramadhan month is back again! Due to bad experiences, I usually don't look forward to invitation for Ramadhan buffet, in fact I am now thinking of excuse not to go to the next one. Anyway, I was quite excited when WMW called me before I left for Gold Coast, asking me if I am free to go to Pick n Brew for the Ramadhan Buffet Special on Friday. Somehow, I knew the food would be very different from the hotels, at least I knew for sure, there won't be endless spread of curry, rendang, masak merah and masak lemak of all kinds of meat and seafood.
I was early and it was a good thing cos the food was untouched so I can take my time snapping photos of it. According to Jackson, the Ramadhan Buffet started on 8 September and run tills 30 September 2008 from 6.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m at both One Utama and Glenmarie outlets. Menu varies daily with free flow of drink-of-the-day and teh tarik.
I took quite a number of photos and it would be impossible for me to post everything here. Quite a lot of choices and personally, I vote for quality over quantity. Am quite impressed actually with the selection of food; offering both authentic Malay and Western.
I simply love the creativity of mixing different kind of ingredients to create such wonderful salad. I like the Tomato & Basil salad the most...simple and refreshing! Soup was good too and best of all, it was piping hot!
The hot food didn't fail to impress. I found out that I missed taking photo of the veggie fritters which WMW couldn't stop munching. But am very sure she will rave about it when she post about the dinner.
The selection of desserts was quite impressive too! Apart from the local kuih which are made in-house, there are cakes, cookies and bubur cha-cha too!
They even have Raya cookies for sale at RM25/box. The melting moment that I tried from the buffet spread was quite good. Really melts in your mouth!

Time : 630pm - 10pm
Price : RM 38+ (Adult), RM 18+ (Children)
Glenmarie outlet
Date : 8/9/08 to 26/9/08
Time : 630pm - 9pm ( Monday to Friday)
Price : RM 30 nett ( Adult ), RM 15 nett (Children)

nic: No kidding, last time i went to few ramadan buffet, chicken cooked in curry, rendang, masak merak, masak lemak and kurma, and beef also cooked the same few ways, then lamb, then fish, then seafood. You see the colour also get turned off: RED, ORANGE, YELLOW AND WHITE. Faint. How much coconut milk can one take????

I love the peanut sauce for gado gado. I even spread it on the keropok ^^

precious pea, how did i miss that nasi ulam ah? WHERE was it located? maybe it oridi collapsed by the time i got there la hor, so i didnt notice it.

fbb: It was at the ulam corner la! Right in front of those salted egg, ikan masin and kerabu. Maybe by the time you arrived, the kon became flat. Swear it was not me cos I also forgotten about it after the Laksa Johor. Big mistake to start off with noodle.
Aiks...the Nasi Ulam is a mystery! Definitely didn't disappear, it's there! I missed out on the cookies, soup and bubur cha cha!
