F.I.R. Concert in Genting Highlands

Hubby and I went for F.I.R concert held at Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands last Saturday. "Who?" was the common questions asked when I told friends that I was going for the concert. F.I.R is actually a Taiwanese music group consisting of a pretty lead vocal, a cute guitarist and a cool-looking producer. Don't ask me for their names, I don't really know much about them except that I do love most of their songs; from energetic rock to soft ballad.

For your information, I only attend concert held in Genting Highlands and never in those stadium in KL or Bukit Jalil? Reason being, the seatings in Arena of Stars is assigned when you purchase the ticket whereas for stadium, it is usually free seating, provided of course if you are willing to pay a premium price for those assigned seats. I am not the sort that would camp outside the entrance of the stadium hours before the concert starts to grab the best seat available. Of course, the cool and chilly weather in Genting is a bonus point too! Initially, this concert was supposed to be held in Bukit Jalil Stadium in September but it was subsequently moved to the Arena of Stars. Ahhh....what luck!

There is not much difference between attending a concert and a wedding in Malaysia. The concert was supposed to start at 8 p.m., the concert hall was only 1/3 filled! Anyway, we arrived at 7.50 p.m. and I told Hubby don't expect for it to start before 8.30 p.m. and how accurate I was. There were people who came in after 9 p.m. too!! Gosh!!! Seriously, we Malaysians should attend Time Management courses.

By the way, anyone had any idea why we are NOT allowed to take photos during the concert? There were staffs actually going around with a signboard and a torchlight to remind the audience not to take any photos or videos. Of course, their attempt failed as no one seemed to care. And the thing is, these staffs only targeting those seated at PS2, PS3 and PS4 whereas it was very evident that those sitting in front (PS1, VIP and VVIP) were taking videos and photos without any problem. I was super pissed cos I paid for my ticket and I would like to take some photos for remembrance sake.

Anyway, the concert was awesome! They sang all my favourite songs especially the lovey dovey duet song that I am crazy over with! I vowed to learn all their songs so that I can sing to my heart content when I go karaoke, ooii.....WMW, when??

F.I.R rocks! At the end of the concert, most of the fans were dancing away to their famous song, "Fly Away".

Just in case you are still wondering who they are, perhaps the popular song below can give you a clue, if you do listen to Chinese song that is!

What's interesting about them to me is the gender-mix. Don't see much of that these days, not since ABBA. Glad you enjoyed yourself, dear.

kenny mah: I was told the lead singer is actually dating one of the guy, the cute one. Most of the songs sang by the girl so the two guys are like 'k-leh-feh'.

We feel happy that you can enjoy these great shows but feel embarrassed that our own Malaysia itself does not produce quality entertainment stars worthy of our attention

bsg: Actually there are a few local chinese singers quite good but mostly based in Taiwan. Being a singer is tough here.

cumi & ciki: Hehehe, no lah..long time didn't go for any concert, costly mostly held in stadium.

Haiye, seriously, most Malaysian are prone to be late. I think it's an insult to the performers.

Purpose built auditorium makes the difference. Just a one-off investment. Peanuts to a mega-theme park.

wow...You are very happening indeed. If not mistaken the lead singer is Ah Fei and she is dating with the guitarist. So far I haven't meet a lady of your age who likes FIR :S
