FAREWELL, MY DEAR COLLEAGUES!

I still remember that morning when I anxiously walked into my ED's room to hand in my resignation letter. I was questioning myself if I am doing the right thing since everyone is talking about recession, unemployment, retrenchment at that moment (>2 months ago) particularly, when I LOVE my job too. However, I walked out from his room feeling relieved and excited, cos very soon I will be embarking a new journey.

Due to personal reason, I could not share the excitement of my new anticipated journey in my blog. But after this post, I am very sure many will start asking me why I quit my job and where I will be going. Truth is, I got my Australian PR last year and I will be heading over to Melbourne in July. Sadly, Hubby and my two furry kids would not be able to join me so soon as it would be risky to relocate the whole family without a stable job there. The boys will join me after I get a job and if everything goes well, our new home sweet home.

Anyway, this post is dedicated to all my wonderful colleagues.

Thank you for making my seven and a half years working here a memorable one. I will certainly miss you all especially my crazy gang. I am starting to feel sad now, I really hope I can control my emotion when we go off this evening.

Do keep in touch and when I have my own place in Melbourne, my doors are always open to you guys! Take care and all the best!!

*More on the cupcakes next post!!*

Live2talk: Thank you dear. One of the greatest thing I gained from work is the wonderful friendship with you guys. Do visit me in Melbourne..with ahem...your other half. :)

Littlelamb: Hahaha...wahh..thank you in advance for your support. Don't think I can manage restaurant. No quality control.

pureglutton: I can feel the heartache now when I think about parting with my boys :( But am very 'fong sum' to leave them with Hubby cos he is the most responsible man I ever know.

thenomadGourmand: I am still around till July, and I got a feeling what we will surely have a chance to meet.

simon: Aww...karaoke, when when??

NJoe: Good good good. Let me know when you are coming over ok?

coffeesncookies: I will be transfering the Pea's Farm land title to Hubby. He will manage for me, actually he is a better gardener. Good to know that your shue miu is growing. Am sure you will have a splendid time harvesting them.

Emile: I will still continue to blog, although it will focus on goodies in Melbourne instead of Malaysia. :) But one thing for sure, I will surely miss NASI LEMAK!! Sob sob sob!

Welcome to Oz! I had been anticipating this event while reading one of your earlier posts. I can assure you that you will not regret your decision to come and live here.

Of course, initially, you will miss your family & mates. But think about it, as you have opened your doors to them, it will be exciting to have them over and enjoy your company & what Oz has to offer.

Inspite of the talk of the current recession, the future for you & your family here will be bright. Oz has responsibile & accountable politicians and if they betray our trust given to them, out they go - a well know politician by the name of J Howard was booted out in the last elections. It can never happen in Bolehland, and that's why the brain drain continuse from Bolehland.

Bolehland's loss is our gain. This is "God's country". You will love it here and you will feel at homë, as if you have never left home, if you know what I mean.

When we first migrated here > than a quarter of a century ago, we have not looked back. I love it here so much that I have not been back to Bolehland. Most of my family have settled here, including our parents. They all love it here. Very soon, one of my nieces will become an Aussie citizen. . . .

Good luck and best wishes.

Hi there... I am an avid reader of your blog. I am a Malaysian based in Melbourne and both Lily and myself loves to eat! Every time we are back in KL, will try to squeeze in all the good food you put in your blog. :D The last one was the japanese buffet at Mont Kiara. It was sensational! Now knowing that you are migrating over to Melbourne, this is one of the best highlight of our day! We are already looking forward to your food reviews (and we get to try the very next day) in Melb.

Hullo, I have been lurking around for the past few months after I moved to Bonn last year. Like most Msians overseas, I needed to start cooking and found a lot of terrific ideas from you! Thanks so much for sharing your recipes and enthusiasm for one thing Msia can be proud of, its food! It was tough to view all those yummy shots of dishes one doesnt get in this part of the world.

All the best in your move to Oz. It is sad that we are 'fleeing' our homeland but we all know why we are leaving. I moved my dog to Bonn too and one thing bout these foreign lands, animals are loved and treated with dignity. It's a joy that our canine family is able to accompany us everywhere from restaurants to department stores to trains and buses! And there are magnificent parks where dogs can roam off-leash without encountering over-reacting shrieking fools. I am rambling too much, bye for now and all the best!

550ml jar of faith: Yeah, Melbourne has got so much to offer. I am pretty excited too.

Bangsar-Babe: Thanks!!!

Anonymous: Thank you for your encouragement. It's great to get reassurance from someone who have been through the process. May I know which part of Oz are you at?

simplegirl: Yes, part of the reason of migrating to Melb was because of my sis, the one and only sibling i have. I am sure the boys will love it too, hahaha..i kept asking them if they wanna be Aussie Dog soon.

cokeworld citizen: Hey, i do hope we get a chance to meet cos i know for sure we could click really well.

Julian: Thanks. More on the cupcakes in my coming post.

cumi & ciki: Aiyoo...we have not met yet!!!!!

noobcook: Thank you for the kind wishes.

Nic: Hahaha....yes yes yes.....actually before i even leave, I already bought a return ticket back home for summer.

unkaleong: That long!!!???!!!! No wonder I cannot remember how leng jai you are oledi....hahaha..kidding kidding.

sc: Come and visit me..with Alicia too!

stephen: LOL!!! But i guess it's now my turn to seek your advice on where to eat in Melbourne. You know what I am gonna eat when i touch down?? PHO!!! Nothing beat Pho in Melbourne. Thank you so much for following my blog...your comment really put a big smile on my face, really!

xin: I am sad leaving my home country too, but but but...

terri: I know what you mean. I can't wait to bring my dogs to the park and run care free while we busy barbequeing away. With all the fresh produce in Melbourne, I will sure be cooking a lot, and will certainly share with you in my blog (provided it is edible). Hope you have settle in well in Bonn now.

i have been reading your blog for a while now to satisfy my visual craving for Malaysian/Asian food. Good luck with your upcoming move to Australia. My sister and I have been living in the States for years now (Sis:10, Me:6); sort of like the same arrangement between you and your sister. It will be an exciting journey; life and food adventure wise. A helpful hint: Bring your fav condiments with you (soy, chilli sauce, curry mixes, snacks and etc). It took us a while to get used to the Asian food here but we love it now. Congratulations!
